2015 Judge's Bios


Dan Popp, Sound Czar, Colors Audio
Dan Popp is a seasoned copywriter, voice actor, voiceover coach and recording engineer.  Since his first radio gig in 1975 he has been learning about sound and storytelling.  In 1989 Dan launched his audio production company, Colors Audio, in Akron, Ohio.  The client list includes John Deere, Walker Muffler, Kimberly-Clark, Goodyear and NASCAR Media Group.  His current focus is training the new crop of voice actors as part of a larger effort to raise the bar of professionalism in our industry.  His trophy wife of 34 years, Vicky, is the company CFO.

Yvonne M. Painton, President, Max Communications, Inc. 
A major force in the television and radio news industry for nearly 20 years, Yvonne also has extensive experience in both commercial and industrial voice-overs, as well as a management background in news, public relations and marketing. In addition to being the international "voice" of Sprint and other major corporations, Yvonne is also the recipient of numerous awards for broadcast and writing excellence from such organizations as The Associated Press, CBS, The Radio and Television News Association and The Los Angeles Press Club. Her background, coupled with her insight into future marketing trends in the telecommunications arena, led to the inception of MaxCom, and its premiere services, Maximum Messages ®, and Maximum Productions ®.
Gloria Mason Martin, MFA, BA, AEA, The Grammy's

Gloria Mason Martin has been a sought-after voice talent in the IVR and On-Hold space for more than 20 years. From banking, insurance, and financial apps to pharmaceuticals, webcast, training, and audiobooks, she has recorded more than 100,000 prompts a year for many years. Her voice has been heard across four continents.  Additionally, Gloria is one of the most trained voice talents in the business, holding an Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre: Acting and Directing, she has served on the performance faculties at University of Georgia, Emory University, and Agnes Scott College. Currently she serves at the University of Phoenix-Atlanta Campus as Lead Faculty-Content Area Chair for Humanities, History, and General Education and as Campus Faculty Assessment Liasion for the Southeast Region. Since 1999, she has maintained a home recording studio, Martin Digital Studios. Besides specializing in voice and voice recording, her studio has also produced three albums of children's music, qualifying her as a Voting Member of the Grammy's for 12 years. Gloria also teaches beginning and advance voice over classes at Atlanta's Tony Award-Winning regional theatre, The Alliance Theatre, and she works as a voice and acting coach. Gloria is honored to serve as judge for this competition.
