On Hold Messaging Association’s National Conference in San Diego Presents Prestigious MARCE Awards, Elects New Board of Directors
 
The On Hold Messaging Association, comprised of the nation’s leading 'on hold marketing' companies and equipment manufacturers, met in San Diego, March 18-20, 2010. The group discussed the changing needs of on hold messaging, elected a new Board of Directors and presented the prestigious MARCE Awards.
 
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 31, 2010 -- The On Hold Messaging Association, OHMA, held their tenth annual conference in San Diego, March 18-20, 2010 at the Westin San Diego, 400 West Broadway. The conference promoted creative and marketing strategies for the on hold messaging industry and concluded the conference with the presentation of the industry’s MARCE Awards (Marketing and Creative Excellence) for the best audio productions for on hold use. Entries for competition came from OHMA members and non-members. This year’s winners included two international entries, a silver winner from the UK, and a gold winner from Australia. All entries are judged on their copy, voice, production value, and on hold messaging format. Special emphasis is placed on two more areas: creativity and marketing effectiveness. Judges are media professionals and members of the American Advertising Federation. This year’s MARCE winners are posted on the OHMA website.

OHMA - Trademark of Assurance, Elects New Board

This year’s focus will be on encouraging qualified on hold messaging companies to join OHMA, further strengthening the industry and increasing awareness of the importance of marketing on hold!
The newly elected Board of Directors for 2010-2011 include: Allen Gaughf, Chairman, Vince Koegle, Vice –
Chairman, Pete Turpel, Ex-Officio Chair, Mitch Keller, Andy Hedberg, Justin Ginsberg, Jerry Brown, Nick Findlay, and Simon Faure-Field. According to Allen Gaughf, OHMA Chairman, The 2010 conference was spectacular, with tremendous participation from all attending members in general sessions ranging from marketing, customer intimacy, a financial statement workshop, telephone trends and one-on-one time with the manufacturers. Gaughf stated that this year’s focus will be on encouraging qualified on hold messaging companies to join our organization, further strengthening the industry and increasing awareness of the importance of marketing on hold! In addition, promotion of the MARCE awards will reach out to local chapters of advertising clubs, marketing companies and advertising agencies.

OHMA’s 2011 Conference will be held in St. Louis, MO, co-located with the International Business Music Association. Chairman Gaughf stated ‘Our industries parallel each other with the emphasis being on business audio, so we thought it was an exciting opportunity to co-locate and meet each other
s manufacturers, suppliers and members. We will have staggered dates with the IBMA conference April 13th through 15th and OHMA’s conference April 14th through 16th. We think there will be excellent synergy between the two organizations. We are not merging, simply holding the conferences together for member benefits.
